Mel on TV
Well, if you ever wanted to know what I do, what I teach, and how I've spent the past decade of my career... here's your chance. I was recently interviewed for a local show called "Inside Creative Minds."
So, if you have 12 minutes and want to see Melanie desperately trying not to be a dork on TV, here ya go...

On the show, you'll see shots of my new workplace at ASU's Cronkite School. It's an amazing place. But the return to work has been a little rough on the girls (and Mommy too). We're all getting through it, and I'm looking forward to decorating my office with Mallory's and Miranda's artistic masterpieces!

#3 is Picture Perfect!
We had an amazing "Painting Party" to celebrate Mallory Skye's 3rd birthday today. The kiddos got face painting a la Vince, painted their own magnets and even turned dessert into an art project of "sprinkle design." It was a creative extravaganza!
Here's Mallory with her specifically requested "magenta frog."
Miranda's blue flower stayed on for longer than you'd expect!

Favorite gifts included a play kitchen from Aunt Judy, an Ariel doll from Nannie Deb, and from Mama, Dada & Miranda, a dinosaur Mallory decided to name "Sharky."
Most amazing part of the day: Mallory was so worn out, she fell asleep for the night at 5:30pm! That's a tired birthday girl!

Remember
As most of you know, it's been four years since my Dad died.
Mallory looks at photos of Dad, and she says to Miranda: "That's Grandpa!"
Today, I planted a little cactus garden as a memorial.
